INSIDE VOGUE.

This year is the 50th anniversary of Vogue Italia and to celebrate it, the magazine opened the first headquarter to visitors. As everybody knows when you speak about fashion magazines, Vogue is the most important and it was a real pleasure for us visit offices and learn something more about the history of the magazine (thanks to the guy who explained us how it was born and its evolution).
All the walls are decorated with pictures taken over the years by great photographers with famous and beautiful models. It has been a unique experience!

The Art of Embroidery: Mister Grasso

This morning we had the great pleasure to meet Pino Grasso and his daughter Raffaella. Mister Grasso is know as the master of embroidery here in Italy; he works with important designers as Armani, Versace, Valentino, Tom Ford, Bottega Veneta, Marni ecc... realizing unbelievable handmade embroideries.
His career started 55 years ago and he is still the number one in Italy. Mister Grasso told us that the most important thing to work in this field is the knowledge of materials and your creativity, mixing this two things the result will be excellent.
They realize embroidery not just for clothes, but also for shoes, bags and accessories using many different types if materials according to the customer's need.
We also visited the archive of Mister Grasso touching and seeing many samples of embroideries used for famous (amazing) clothes!
We feel so lucky ;-)

The World of Fabrics

This morning all our students took part in a common lesson about the importance of fabrics in fashion.
During this lesson we discovered how to recognize and identify different types of fabrics, touching and seeing many samples.
Usually students are divided into Fashion Design and Fashion Styling classes, but fabrics are important for both and they appreciated this group lesson during that they could interact with each other and exchange points of view.

LADY IN RED....

This season, New York is setting a very nice trend, using a shocking red! We can see it in pants, dresses, skirts, in all kinds of fabrics. We really like this vibrant colour is really energetic and it goes really well with different skin tones.
From left to right: Vera Wang, Charlotte Ronson, Cynthia Rowley and Monique Lhuillier.

FASHION WEEK!!!

For us, one of the most exciting times of the year has come... fashion week!
For now we have been checking what has been going on in New York, and we must say that Marchesa, the label that has for muse the famous and wonderfully excentric italian aristocrat Marchesa Luisa Casati (1881-1957), is one our favourites. They brilliantly caught her essence using a basic colour palette, lots of lace, and amazing draping. Enjoy!
